Super Battleship Kii

Super Battleship Kii as it appears in the stage transition screen

The Super Battleship Kii is the Japan stage boss of Strikers 1945 and the Greenland stage boss of Strikers 1945 Plus.

Appearance[]

In its first form, Kii looks nothing special, just an ordinary naval battleship.

in the 1st game, Kii appeared as a boss.

Kii is a Yamato class Battleship in the Strikers 1945 series.

However, Kii's true form is a bipedal grey robot. It possesses some traits from the cannon of the ship that transforms into the robot. It has a square-shaped torso, along with some sand-coloured markings. It possesses some square-shaped feet, and what appears to be a rocket engine mounted on its back. Its arms are thin, and the left one contains one small gun barrel while the right arm possesses two. Kii also has a camera-shaped head with a red eye and a small gun mounted next to the eye.

In Strikers 1945 plus, Kii's true form has drastically changed. It is now a red winged robot with silver highlights, black machine guns mounted on its arms, and what appears to be a mortar on its back.

Battle[]

Strikers 1945[]

1st form[]

In this form, the IJN Kii will attack with its large cannons, and some smaller cannons. Occasionally, small planes will fly onscreen to support the tyrannical battleship. In this form, Its bridge is its weak point, although the large cannons can be destroyed too.

2nd form[]

When the bridge of the IJN Kii is destroyed, the rearmost cannon will eject out of the battleship and transform into the robot after it sinks. In this form, Kii releases bullets from its shoulders and the silts on its body. It will also fire bullets in a shotgun-like style from its right arm, and spray bullets from its head. In this form, The torso is the weak point, although the arms can be destroyed too.

Strikers 1945 Plus[]

Its battle is slightly more different than the original. The first form is now stationary, and the true form has different attacks.

Trivia[]

  • Kii is believed to have been the name of the fourth Yamato-class battleship that began construction in Japan in WW2, but was abandoned before any real work was done due to the Washington Naval Treaty.
  • The PS2 version (bundled with Strikers 1945 II) incorrectly translates the name as "Kit".
  • Kii is one of the bosses from Strikers 1945 to appear in Strikers 1945 plus. In fact, XFB-1 and Khabarovsk appear as sub-bosses, while Kii replaces the Graf zeppelin.
  • In the stage transition screen, Kii looks more like a Nagato-class battleship than a Yamato-class battleship.
